Maria Ernesta Berucci is a historic family winery in Piglio, at the heart of the Cesanese del Piglio area. The Berucci family has worked these hills for generations, with a deep attachment to local grape varieties. Vineyards are farmed organically, and yields are kept low to favor balance and concentration. In the cellar, techniques remain traditional and restrained, allowing the wines to develop naturally. Cesanese plays a central role, expressing the character of the limestone hills and the family’s long-standing experience. Steep slopes and terraced vineyards make much of the work manual and time-intensive.
